All bondable familiars come in Normal, Shifty, and Celestial variants. Variants spawn randomly at the same locations as normal familiars. During Celestial Bloom events (e.g., June 26-29, 2026), Celestial spawn rates are significantly increased. The base linger chance after defeating them remains 5%.

Beeswax and Shimmer Dust are key mid-to-late game crafting materials. They typically drop from specific resource nodes or enemies. Look for sparkling resource nodes while exploring different regions. Check our Resources database for specific locations.

Yes! Patch 0.1.3 added Offline Mode. Witchspire is now fully playable without an active internet connection in single-player. However, co-op multiplayer still requires an online connection.

Overhealth is an additional shield layer above your regular health bar. It can be gained through certain food, skills, and equipment. Overhealth absorbs damage first before your actual HP is reduced. In Patch 0.1.3, Enhanced Verdantbloom Petals healing was increased from 80 to 100.

Patch 0.1.2 introduced World Save Backups that are created every 15 minutes. If your save is corrupted: 1) Navigate to the backup directory in your save folder. 2) Replace the current save with the most recent backup. 3) Restart the game. It is also recommended to manually back up save files regularly.

Witchspire supports Steam-compatible controllers (Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) via the Steam Input API. If your controller is not working: ensure controller support is enabled in Steam settings, or try launching the game in Steam Big Picture Mode.

The maximum Hearth level is 20. Reaching level 20 unlocks all endgame crafting and capabilities. Prioritize reaching level 5 for intermediate crafting stations, then aim for level 10 as a mid-game goal. See our Hearth upgrade guide for the full breakdown.

The 4 starters are: Quol (Ethereal), Fien (Nox), Locto (Lux), and Bril (Crystal). Community consensus: Quol is the safest pick for solo play. Fien deals the most damage but only respawns at night — picking it as starter saves a night hunt. Bril suits tank builds, Locto supports co-op teams.

In Patch 0.1.3, heat in Shuddersands deals 10% of your Maximum Health per second. You need Lotus Brew (95% heat resistance, buffed from 90% to 95%) to survive. Stock up on Lotus Brew and healing items before venturing into the desert.

S-tier bench familiars are Shardling, Lamloof, Granloof, and Treetop. Each unlocks a unique crafting station that cannot be obtained any other way. Bonding these familiars is critical for progression. Granloof has 10 known spawn points, making it relatively easy to find.
